Job description

Manhattan Specialty Care is looking to hire an individual to join our medical practice as an Aftercare Specialist to assist in maintaining patient aftercare. Our Aftercare team is customer-oriented service professionals who are responsible for following up with our patients. They relay clinical results to them in a timely manner, assist in the coordination of referrals, and other follow-up appointments. This person should be able to work efficiently under the directive of the quality assurance manager to help ensure that our medical practice runs as smoothly as possible with all our patients' needs being effectively met.

** Serious candidates with 1-2 years of experience as a patient aftercare specialist in a private practice/medical office.***


Duties:

  • Obtain and attach patient clinical documents to a patient’s chart.
  • Print lab results and identify patient allergies and current medication.
  • Timely responses to tasks assigned by physicians.
  • Ability to multi-task to provide medical information and patient support.
  • Managing a high volume of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner.
  • Creating and managing patient files; including, but not limited to scheduling and confirming patients appointments.
  • Following communication scripts and guidelines when handling different topics.
  • Identify patients' needs, clarifying information, and researching every issue and provide solutions or alternatives.
  • Routing calls to appropriate resources.
  • Must be able to communicate with patients and physicians effectively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Keep a record of all conversations in our EMR system.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Aftercare specialist or patient coordinator in a private practice/ hospital.
  • Have knowledge of eclinicalworks or other medical EMR systems.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Can organize and multi-task work responsibilities while completing deadlines.
  • Ability to learn new software.
