Medical Billing Accounts Receivable Supervisor

Manhattan Specialty Care is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and energetic Accounts Receivable Supervisor to join our rapidly growing billing team. Manhattan Specialty Care is a multi specialty practice with a heavy emphasis in Gastroenterology.

The Accounts Receivable Supervisor is a full-time position responsible for overseeing the AR and payment posting team. This candidate will be responsible for understanding and supervising correcting claims, posting payments, submitting appeals and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Manager will implement and manage the internal billing process and procedures.
  • Oversee the AR team and optimize productivity
  • Train all new AR team members
  • Recognize trends and identify AR issues
  • understand and is able to handle all team inquiries
  • Identify and resolve patient billing complaints.
  • Send appeals for: low reimbursement, no authorizations, timely filing, medical necessity etc. with correct documentation.
  • Follow-up and report status of delinquent accounts.
  • Perform various collection actions including contacting patients as well as appealing, correcting and/or resubmitting claims to third party payers.
  • Establish payment plans to help patients manage payment of bills.
  • Send delinquent accounts to collection agencies.
  • Respond to patient billing and statement inquiries.
  • Prepare financial reports and present to company leadership

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Background in leadership or management role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of NY State and federal billing regulations
  • Clear understanding and working knowledge of claims processing, payer denials and appeals processes.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a cross-functional team environment by collaborating with others and sharing tools, skills, and knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills that demonstrate resourcefulness and attention to detail.
  • Experience with payments, reconciliations, and claims.
  • Strong understanding of NPI, taxonomy and claim submission requirements.
  • Up to date knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT Codes
  • Multispecialty billing preferred
  • Highly proficient in MS Office, including advanced experience with excel.
  • Strong accounting and financial reporting skills
  • Analyzes and reports Accounts Receivable data. Keeps executive management advised of trends and issues.
  • Offers suggestions for resolution.
  • Composes and submits appeals to insurance companies.
  • Assist in complicated insurance denials and appeals
  • Maintains appropriate internal controls over Accounts Receivable.
  • Must be able to communicate with patients, physicians and insurance companies effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65k-$75K
