Histology Technician

Manhattan Gastroenterology is seeking a histology technician for our state of the art pathology laboratory in Midtown Manhattan. This is a full time position.  Family-like atmosphere and great compensation. The ideal candidate has experience working in a variety of histology lab settings and is familiar with manual and automated histology techniques. Must be a quick learner, flexible, have excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills. Major responsibilities include embedding, cutting, assisting with grossing/processing/staining as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs the following routine histologic procedures: Accessioning, Grossing, Processing, Embedding procedures, Cutting, Section techniques involving hematoxylin and eosin 

• Routine special staining such as H/E, AB/PAS, H.Pylori/CD3

Requirements:

Associates degree with at least 60 college credits with 24 science credits are required

Required Licenses: Certified Histology Technician-NYS, Clinical Lab Technician-NYS, Clinical Lab Technologist-NYS

Preferred Qualifications:

BS/BA in Science preferred; American Society of Clinical Pathologists certification as a Histology Technician (ASCP-HT) or Histotechnologist (ASCP-HTL)
